The Care Study for midwifery focuses on the nursing and midwifery process in maternal and newborn care. Candidates are expected to:

• Client’s profile (gravida, parity, age, reason for admission).
2. History Taking & Assessment
• Obstetric history (LMP, EDD, previous pregnancies, antenatal care).
• Current complaint and examination findings.
• Relevant lab/scan investigations.
3. Midwifery/Nursing Diagnoses
• Identification of actual and potential problems in pregnancy, labour, puerperium, or neonatal care.
4. Planning
• Setting measurable objectives to promote safe motherhood and newborn wellbeing.
• Prioritization of maternal and child needs.
5. Implementation
• Midwifery interventions (monitoring labour, health education, immediate newborn care, breastfeeding support, etc.).
• Collaborative interventions with the health team.
6. Evaluation
• Reviewing progress of mother and baby.
• Modifying care as needed.
7. Conclusion and Recommendations
• Summarizing the care provided.
• Recommendations for follow-up and community support.
Duration: Completed during clinical posting; deadline is set by the NMC.
